Local Foreigner is seeking an Affiliate Travel Advisor Coordinator to support the dynamic operations of our expanding Independent Contractor (IC) program. This role is pivotal in ensuring a smooth, high-touch experience for our ICs across every stage of their journey—from sourcing and recruitment to onboarding, training, and ongoing engagement.
Acting as both a logistical lead and a key point of contact, the Affiliate Travel Advisor Coordinator will manage the day-to-day workflows that keep our contractor program running smoothly. Responsibilities include coordinating communications, maintaining accurate documentation and reports, and supporting cross-functional collaboration between internal departments and our contractor network. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, an efficient multitasker, and thrives in a people-first, process-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
IC Recruitment, Onboarding & Offboarding
- Recruitment: Coordinate and schedule informational phone calls and interviews, send/review applications and assessments, conduct reference checks and manage contract execution.
Onboarding & Training: Coordinate and participate in training and Salesforce CRM onboarding, including specialized onboarding for industry newcomers
Offboarding: Support the departure process for ICs, ensuring a smooth and documented transition
Event and Travel Support
Assist in coordinating logistics for TLF Educational Trips (EDUs), company retreats, industry conferences, and scouting trips—including liaising with DMCs, hotel partners, and internal teams
Collect interest and coordinate IC participation across all events
Maintain and update the master calendar with all relevant IC-related travel and event information
Organize documentation and follow-up, including notetaking, scouting reports, and post-event feedback from ICs
Ongoing Communications & Engagement
Distribute the Weekly Friday Digest to ICs with updates and resources
Organize and coordinate professional development sessions (Breakout Sessions) with internal teams (including content and scheduling)
Track and manage the IC lead pipeline
Reporting & Analytics
Populate Monthly IC Stat Report to capture key performance indicators and engagement metrics
Generate the Yearly TLF Preferred Partner Report and a suite of Bi-Annual Preferred Partner Production Reports
Other Responsibilities
Performs additional projects and tasks as needed to support the Independent Contractor (IC) program and the overall success of the company.
Qualifications
New York City-Based (For the first 6 months: in-office 5 days per week. After that: in-office 3 days per week, including Mondays and Wednesdays.)
Bachelor’s degree
2+ years of experience in event coordination, travel/hospitality, project management or similar roles
Strong organizational skills—you’re used to managing moving pieces, keeping detailed records, and following up across departments or stakeholders
Clear and professional communicator, both written and verbal
Proactive and resourceful; intuitive problem-solver
Positive attitude with passion for customer service, and a reflection of Local Foreigner’s brand ethos
Tech-savvy, proficient with MS Office (Excel skills mandatory) and experience using CRM or project management systems (e.g., Salesforce, Jira, Monday, Confluence)
Compensation
Salary: $70,000 Annually
